Look Good... Feel Better

Look Good...Feel Better is a national public service program for women who are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy. The concept behind the program is simple: If women with cancer can be helped to look good, their improved self-esteem will help them approach their disease and treatment with greater confidence.

Each two-hour, hands-on workshop includes a 12-step skin care/make-up application lesson, demonstration of options for dealing with hair loss, and nail care techniques. Local group programs are organized by the American Cancer Society and facilitated by Look Good... Feel Better-certified cosmetologists. In addition to receiving make-over tips and personal attention, patients receive complimentary instruction booklets and cosmetic kits in their skin tones.

Workshops are scheduled three times a year at SCTWC and meet on Mondays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The next one is:

Monday, July 7th
Each class is from 1-3pm

To register, call 206-292-2277.

You can also find classes, activities and support groups through local organizations such as Cancer Lifeline and Gilda's Club.
